Materials
One purchased sheer blouse water soluble stabilizer glue stick (acid
free, photo-safe).
Thread
rayon embroidery thread: assorted colors.
Step 1. At the Computer
Print templates of designs #24751 and 24762. Send designs
#24751,24762 and 24754 to your machine.
Step 2. Embroidery Placement
Try on the blouse and stand in front of a mirror. Tape the templates
onto the garment in a pleasing arrangement. Consider one at the neck and another
at the lower hem area. Think in terms of �less is more�when placing the flowers
on this sophisticated and understated blouse.
Notice there are no flower petals on the template image so keep in mind the
finished design will be larger than the template image.
Remove the blouse and place it on a flat surface. Find the sleeve center and
mark 1� towards the garment. Tape one small silk flower on the mark. Position
two more flowers on either side of the first one. The flowers should be 1
1/2�apart from flower center to flower center. Placing the flowers in this
fashion ensures that the embroidery will be centered over the hand.
Step 3. Embroidery
Hoop water soluble stabilizer and the garment in the smallest hoop
available for the design. You may want to test an inconspicuous area of the
garment in case of permanent hoop marks. In the event the hoop will damage the
fabric, hoop the stabilizer,spray with temporary adhesive and finger press the
garment into the hoop.
Select one silk flower from the collection. Dab the glue stick in the center of
the right side of the flower.
Fold the flower in half and secure with a paper clip until the glue has
dried.
Select design #24762. Embroider the first two colors: green and dark green. The
third color is a placement guide, embroider in yellow (black is used here for
illustration).
Remove the flower from the paper clip and place a small dab of glue on one
side of the folded flower. Place the center of the flower on the stitched
placement guide. Embroider the remaining colors.
Sleeves
The flowers on the sleeve are secured with just the flower center
from design #24754. Omit the first four colors of that design,and stitch the
placement guide (color 5). Dab glue on the center back of a silk flower and
position the flower on the placement guide. Sew the remaining colors. The sample
shows three flowers on each cuff.
